Event Description:
Contract documents, drawings, and specifications and their impact on the construction process. A study of the types and organization of construction contracts, and the roles and responsibilities of the parties involved.
 
Student Learning Outcomes:
To create a learning environment whereby a student becomes able to:
 
A. Understand the meaning of contract and specification terms and phrases.
B. Understand the contract clauses.
C. Understand the types of contracts and documents and forms used to prepare them.
D. Understand the contractor, sub-contractor, and supplier obligations under different contracts.
E. Understand the contract bidding and negotiating.
F. Understand the ethical issues that confront construction professionals.


This will be taught by Dr. Bryan D. Dyer 
Bryan Dyer is an experienced construction design professional with over 20 years in the construction industry. He has designed and constructed over $1 billion in commercial projects. Primarily focused on heavy civil, infrastructure, and vertical construction. Dr. Ellis holds undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Ellis currently lives in Lexington, KY with his wife and three children
